Edinburgh Castle dominates this city from its position atop Castle Rock. It stands upon the basalt plug of an extinct volcano and lends the city a uniquely dramatic atmosphere. In the absence of any volcanic eruptions, Edinburgh’s red hot nightlife provides all the excitement this city needs.

There’s no shortage of Hen weekend activities in and around Edinburgh including clay pigeon shooting, dance classes, pampering and cheerleading lessons? If you feel like a dose of adrenalin then white water rafting could be what you’re after. Scotland has some excellent grade 3 to 5+ rapids (5 is pretty challenging).

Edinburgh is bursting with charm and history so don’t forget to spend some time just walking around and soaking up the sights and sounds (sounds come mostly from busking bagpipers). If you plan to be there in August then you can experience the largest arts festival in the world – The Edinburgh Fringe and the Edinburgh International Festival. This is the place to be for a fantastic variety of theatre, comedy, children’s shows, dance, physical theatre, musicals, operas, all genres of music, exhibitions, and events.
