Wroclaw is one of Poland's newest Hen weekend destinations. It's a beautiful, atmospheric city perched on the banks of the river Odra, steeped in a thousand years of history and culture and compact enough to be explored on foot.
Known as the 'Venice of Poland', Wroclaw features 12 small islands interlinked by 100 bridges - perfect for an afternoon of wandering between cafés and bars. A boat trip around the river and canals is an absolute must to fully appreciate this intricate little city. A great stop off is the market in the old town, for a little souvenir-hunting.
The Poles love to party and the city is bursting at the seams with quality places to eat, drink and dance. What's more, booze and merriment all comes cheap- - expect to pay about half what you would in the UK. For an atmospheric start to your night, take an evening stroll around the cathedral area to see its churches and monuments lit by gas lamps. Later on, head for the Market Square and blend in with the party-mad student crowd to take on the host of funky bars, clubs and restaurants for which Wroclaw is justifiably famous.
Wroclaw won't be the new kid in town for long so make sure you and the girls get there before everybody else.
