Located on Ireland's stunning west coast, Galway is a genuine aristocrat of the Stag world. It is a city of delightful contrasts - a slice of traditional Ireland with a cosmopolitan vibe characterised by a large student population. It is small, population 70,000, but perfectly formed and provides the perfect base for any Stag party.
As befits a city with such a high proportion of young people, the nightlife in Galway is absolutely belting. Head to Eyre Square in the heart of the city where all the action takes place. A good place to start is Monroe's Tavern where you can experience the craic of a proper Irish boozer and enjoy the traditional music that is a feature on every night of the week. Later on, head to Bar 903 and its upstairs neighbour Cuba for a chance to mix with the gorgeous and friendly girls of Galway.
There is just as much to do during the day as at night and a trip to the imposing Galway Cathedral in the centre of the city is a must. The Galway Atlantaquaria is also well worth a visit - this first class aquarium allows you an up close and personal look at the marine life that lives in Ireland's fertile seas. After that you could try eating what you have just seen by visiting McDonagh's Seafood on Quay Street for some of the best fish and chips you will ever taste!
