Located on the west side of Ireland, Galway is somewhere you may not have considered for your Hen weekend but there are plenty of reasons why you should.

This gorgeous university town offers a compact but top notch selection of nightclubs and bars. Eyre Square is where you'll find all the action. Don't waste too much time before heading to a local to enjoy a pint or two of the 'black stuff' with the locals, who will soon make you all feel completely at home. Central Park on Upper Abbeygate Street is a favourite club and a great place to check out all the local talent. When you and the girls get a little peckish, there's no shortage of fantastic restaurants, where you'll find international as well as traditional cuisine. In fact, Galway has more restaurants per head than any other Irish city.

During the day, the Cathedral and stunning bay are both worth a look-in and there's plenty of shopping to be had in the city's fascinating little markets.
