Cork is Ireland's second city and as Stag weekend venues go it is an absolute corker (sorry- couldn't resist). The atmosphere is as laid-back and friendly as you would expect in Ireland and the pubs - not to mention the women - are fantastic.
Cork is actually an island nestling in the middle of the River Lee and is surrounded by green and gorgeous Irish countryside. This compact little city is cosmopolitan and vibrant and offers something for everyone. The architecture is magnificent and there are a multitude of museums and art galleries, cafes and restaurants to choose from. You can also kiss the Blarney Stone at nearby Blarney Castle. According to legend, the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab - very handy before a night on the town.
The city centre is impressive and small enough to allow for easy sightseeing. Elizabeth Fort offers good views over the city and the nearby St. Finbarr's Cathedral is a must-see. The Cork City Gaol is also well worth a visit to get an idea of what life was like in Cork a hundred or so years ago.
When it comes to nightlife Cork is cooking. The city has a large student population, which means that there are plenty of trendy bars and nightclubs to keep everyone happy. Try Sin E on Coburg street for a taste of traditional Ireland before going onto one of the more funky establishments like Kudos cocktail bar or Mangans nightclub, with its multiple floors and quality DJs.
