We rate Cardiff as one of the most laid-back and friendly Stag weekend destinations in the UK. The city has been transforming ever since the stunning Millennium Stadium was chosen to host the Rugby World Cup in 1999. Cardiff Bay has also had a makeover with new residential, retail and leisure developments.
With Cardiff Bay, the River Severn and the Brecon Beacons on its doorstep, this is the perfect base for outdoor Stag weekend activities like powerboating, clay pigeon shooting, sailing and white water rafting.
Once you've worked up a thirst you should head into town to experience some Welsh nightlife. Most of the action can be found in either the city centre or Cardiff Bay area. I know what you're thinking - Cardiff is just full of beer swilling, rugby-mad Neanderthals who wouldn't know a cool bar if it sat on their face. While it's true that the rugby crowd is easy to find, there are also plenty of trendy bars and clubs like sodabar if you prefer (beware, they may not respond well to a bunch of half-cocked Stags arriving on their doorstep).
