A picturesque backdrop, spliffed-up coffeeshops and incredibly friendly Dutch people have helped to make Amsterdam a superb Hen weekend destination. This city of crazy leaning buildings oozes history and begs to be explored. Thanks to the numerous canals, there's relatively little traffic and one of the best ways to get around is by bicycle. There are lots of bike rental companies and many offer discounts for groups so shop around.
After all that cycling you'll need somewhere to quench your thirst. Luckily Amsterdam has no shortage of great bars and is home to some of the most famous beers in the world like Heineken, Grolsch, and Amstel. Many bars also offer a huge range of exotic beers and it's well worth giving them a try. If you don't know what to order, just ask the staff who will be happy to make a suggestion.
For great nightlife check out the area around Leidseplein which is a great spot for restaurants, bars, outdoor cafes, coffeeshops, outdoor performers and people watching.
